The news was announced by the Qatar Sports Club (QSC) on Wednesday evening, confirming that Majed had completed his move to the Russian Premier League side.
"Majed's signing is another step forward for our team and we are excited about the prospect of working with him," said QSC CEO Ahmad Al Kaabi.
"We have always been looking at ways to improve our squad and this transfer is part of that process."
Majed, who is currently playing for Qatar SC,Saudi Pro League Highlights will join up with the Russian club next week and is expected to make his debut against Lokomotiv Moscow in their opening match of the season.
The 24-year-old midfielder has made over 50 appearances for Qatar SC since joining the club in 2016 and has scored four goals in his last five appearances for the national team.
He has also represented the Qatar under-20s and senior teams at various international tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup.
Majed's arrival at FC Zenit St Petersburg will be a boost for the club's midfield, which has struggled for consistency in recent seasons.
The Russian club finished third in the Russian Premier League last season and will be hoping to challenge for the title this year.
